Setting up a CNAME Record

A CNAME (Canonical Name) points one domain alias to another domain name. It does NOT allow IP addresses.

Example: Point www.example.com to example.com.

Note: You generally cannot create a CNAME for the root domain (example.com), only for subdomains (blog.example.com).
